| Question: |
Bob, Just found the website, what a great resource. Here's some back story on my current situation: I bowled throughout high school, with average increasing steadily each year, finally ending up at around 200. For the final 2 years, I used the Rock On by Columbia and had a pretty good amount of success. The ball made a well defined move, but was a strong, arcing reaction, rather than the skid-snap I've seen with other people. Recently, after not bowling for over 5 years, I decided to finally get back into it, but obviously need a new ball. I'm definitely a stroker, with medium (I think) revs, and medium to medium-low ball speed (I'm thinking about dropping from 15lb to 14lb, I've had tendonitis problems as well). So, what kind of ball would you recommend for a typical house shot with medium/medium-heavy oil? I'm looking for the same strong, controlled arcing hook that I had on my Rock On. Is this more a function of the ball or the drilling layout? I've been looking at the Mutant Cell as a first purchase, with thoughts of expanding my arsenal later. |

Over all hook has more to do with cover stock than drilling. Drilling can however affect somewhat where the ball will start to hook. Longer or shorter sown the lane. If you are looking at Roto Grip I think the closest to the ball you mention would be the Roto Grip Nomad solid. |
